The Iowa Center for Children’s Justice hosts regular events to connect with families and stakeholders across our community.
Champions for Children 2025
On Thursday, September 11, ICCJ hosted Champions for Children, our premier fundraising event, and what an incredible evening it was! Together, our community raised $27,500 to support the Iowa Center for Children’s Justice and our mission to give children a stronger voice during times of family conflict and transition.
The evening highlighted the heart of our mission:

Honoring Leaders: We celebrated the remarkable contributions of Judge Constance Cohen, recipient of the Leadership Award, and Carol Bodenstiener, recipient of the Advocacy Award. Their commitment to children and families in Central Iowa continues to inspire our work every day.

Building Community: Guests enjoyed reconnecting with fellow ICCJ supporters over a childhood-inspired charcuterie spread created by Whip It Good Catering.

Sharing Joy: Laughter and fun filled the room with games and prizes generously donated by Raising Cane’s and The Middlebrooke Mercantile.

Gathering in Style: The beautiful event space at Gilbert & Cook created the perfect backdrop for a night of celebration and impact.
Most importantly, the funds raised will directly support ICCJ’s programs, including youth divorce workshops and legal representation for children in high-conflict custody cases. These services provide critical support to children navigating some of the most difficult moments in their lives.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who joined us, supported the event, and stood with us in giving children a voice. Together, we are champions for children.

Des Moines Downtown Farmers' Market, June 2025
The annual Day at the Market was a wonderful event, and the Iowa Center for Children’s Justice (ICCJ) had a booth set up to connect with the community! Families stopped by to learn more about ICCJ programs and ways to get involved, while the kiddos enjoyed a fun coloring activity to keep them entertained.!

Our annual evening of fun, fashion, and fundraising was a huge success, raising $3,600 for the Iowa Center for Children’s Justice! A big thank you to Mr. B Clothing at 1995 NW 86th St, Clive, Iowa, for your incredible support and for helping make the night possible.
